How do i get started?

It is essential that you have a provisional licence before you can drive on the road. If you do not have a provisional licence then you need to apply for one. When you receive your provisional licence you are able to start learning to drive. Initially you will be classified as a learner driver and will be required to pass a driving test to become a qualified driver.

You can start learning to drive whilst studying for the theory test, but you must first pass the theory test before you can apply for the practical test. You can take a 'mock theory' test at any time by visiting the Driving Standards Agency web site, via our links tab above.

How long will it take ?

The first step in learning to drive is to book an initial driving lesson. The number of further lessons will vary from person to person and will depend on how quickly you learn. Most driving lessons are for one to two hours with an hour and half lesson being favoured by most pupils.

It is advisable to allow a reasonable length of time to learn to drive and not to rush. Driving is a serious business. People need time to be taught properly and reflect on any training they receive. This way they become better drivers and are more likely to pass the test first time. I take pride in maintaining a high pass rate and will not present you for testing unless im confident that you have achieved an acceptable standard.
